There is just so many wonderful things to say about Edwina and the team at Pinpoint Finance, but I will focus on the big ones. We recently purchased a house earlier than anticipated. It is likely to be be the largest amount of money we will ever spend. We were so nervous. Edwina and team made every step of this journey easy. I would hate to buy a house without Edwena. She has helped me through the process for two properties and both times she’s been the one person holding everything together!
When we first came to her, we had already signed a contract of sale and the finance (that we’d applied for on our own) fell through. So we were panicking about losing the property. She got back to us via the phone on the same day, walked us through options and next steps, and got us a great rate at short notice. I remember she asked how much detail we wanted to go into with her about lender options and I was so stressed about the timing I said none, and that I was happy to go with whatever she recommended. I imagine some people would have taken advantage of our ignorance and panic but not Edwena, she knew exactly what we needed and just took care of us! She also helped us refinance and take out equity at the end of the fixed term, which was such a smooth process that I almost forgot it happened.
The second time we worked with her on-and-off for a year before settling on a property. She kept in touch the whole way, sending us new finance calculations as rates changed and our savings increased. We made offers on a couple of properties during this time, and we really relied on her help above and beyond her role as a mortgage broker. We talked to her about strategies for negotiations and offers, how to interpret what REAs were telling us, how to navigate timelines with multiple offers, and how to deal with a change of employment circumstances. Everything my partner and I were unsure about, we’d say “let’s ask Edwena”. It really felt like we had open access to all her years of experience in the industry.
She also knows her lenders so well; every time we’d say “what if X” or “what if Y” she knew exactly which banks would be the best to approach in any circumstance. This gave us so much peace of mind, it seemed like no matter what happened she would have a path forward for us.
